Free lectures at St.Vincent

In October, St.Vincent will be offering a series of free lectures aimed at educating women and helping cancer survivors. Learn more about the lectures below.


Don’t Be Afraid to Sneeze
Participants will learn easy ways to improve bladder control, reduce pain in the pelvis, and reduce the need for medication and surgery by becoming more aware of pelvic floor muscle control and bladder retraining techniques. Lecture presented by Andrea Bognar, PT, CLT, a licensed physical therapist for 13 years, specializing in women’s health.

Bone Up on Osteoporosis
Learn how to prevent and manage osteoporosis. Speaker Sandra Takoch, PT, a licensed physical therapist for 22 years, specializes in women’s health issues. Sandra is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.


Be a Strong Survivor
Empower yourself to restore strength and flexibility after cancer treatment. Speaker Sally Hughes, PT, a licensed physical therapist for 34 years, focuses on the care of cancer survivors.

Learn prevention and management of symptoms, exercise guidelines and precautions for Lymphedema. Speaker Paula N. Byerly, MS PT, ATC/L, CLT, a licensed physical therapist for 18 years, is certified in lymphedema therapy.
