Nurse Navigators

“Let us be your resource at any time as Monogram Maternity is here to support you from the moment you discover your exciting news.”

St. Vincent Women’s Hospital Monogram Maternity Nurse Navigators Kathy Ryan, RN and Kim Pfister, RN encounter the question frequently: What, exactly, is a nurse navigator?

“We chose the world ‘navigator’ because we help to navigate expecting moms throughout their pregnancy journey,” Kathy said. “Mainly we want you to enjoy your pregnancy knowing that you will have great support and resources at any stage while you are in the hospital and after you go home with your little one. This is especially helpful for first-time moms because it gives them a chance to ask questions, and they feel more comfortable knowing they have a plan in place very early on.”

Kathy and Kim take pride in personalizing your birth experience. Providing you with Labor Comfort options that include aromatherapy, labor balls, relaxation techniques, guided imagery and hydrotherapy, they can help you build a personalized birth plan to suit your needs.

Another comfort is knowing that St. Vincent Women’s Hospital can accommodate the unplanned complication during pregnancy including high-risk pregnancies. It’s the only hospital in Indiana with the highest level of obstetric and newborn intensive care in one location. As the second hospital in the nation to be designated a Center for Excellence for High Risk by the Joint Commission, it’s home to the state’s largest team of board-certified maternal-fetal medicine specialists and the highest level of NICU care.

“Starting with our Beautiful Beginnings event through their private Monogram Maternity appointments, we come to know each expecting family.” Kim added. “We are thrilled for each parent and want only the best for them in their new adventure.”
